High Wire Wobbles
Here is a link to an episode of the new childrens TV series 'Toby's Travelling Circus' currently aired on Channel5 and produced by Komixx Entertainment. I am lucky enough to have worked for Mackinnon and Saunders (who create the puppets and animation) as an animator on this show. This link is from the channel 5 website so will only be available for a limited time. I have linked to this particular episode as it has a few distinct scenes that I animated. My animation can be seen at 03:47-4:17, 04:25-05:00, 07:53-8:00 (Freddo the Clown only) & 08:13-08:38 (Freddo the Clown only). Enjoy!
Quiet is...
October to December 2011 I worked as a stop-motion animator for Edinburgh based company Kolik on a series for Disney called 'Quiet is...'. It aired in the US early 2012. Here are a couple of the episodes we created! I animated the origami/paper crane in Quiet is...the Night Sky, and the wiggly worm in Quiet is...a Napping Kitten.

How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep
It's been a long time since I last posted about the miniature blanket I knitted (or indeed since I last posted at all!) ...so finally here it is...Bombay Bicycle Club's 'How Can You Swallow So Much Sleep' directed and animated by Anna Ginsburg. The blanket was designed and made to be unravelled during the animation. Each patch was separately hand knitted and then held together with thin wire. Enjoy! Anna G has done a beautiful job, the lighting is especially atmospheric.

British Animation Awards
I am pleased to report that Out on the Tiles will be part of the British Animation Awards 2012 as part of the public choice and student catergorys. It will be screened in various cities throughout the UK. For more information on the BAA, follow this link - http://www.britishanimationawards.com/
September 2011
In September I was commisioned to make this minature blanket for use in an animated music video directed and animated by the very talanted Anna Ginsburg. It is entirely hand knitted using 1mm needles and is approximately 20cm x 18cm. The triangular pieces are wired together allowing the entire blanket to unravel piece by piece during the animation! (A slightly heartbreaking fact for me as it took a substantial chunk of my life to create!! But worth it looking at the finished animation.) The music video cannot be named yet, but when that time comes I'll be sure to post a link or two! Until then, enjoy this tiny knitting!

E4 Sting Competition
During late June I decided to take part in E4's Sting competition (to hand in for the deadline of 1st July.) I animated frame by frame into photoshop (colouring the frames as well), then used After Effects to string it together and add a few extra touches!

Training Week at Chapman Entertainment - April 2011
I spent a week at Chapman Entertainment's Manchester studio. They were a really great bunch of people! I spent the week doing animation tests using old puppets from Roary the Racing Car. Below is one example, but to see more, including lip sync and walk cycles just click on the Animation tab at the top of the page.

BAFTA in Scotland Award! -24th March 2011
I am absolutely over the moon following the BAFTA in Scotland ceremony where I won the animation catergory with 'Out on the Tiles'! It was a fantastic evening and there so much brilliant work to see. I must say thank you to my tutors and many of the animation students from ECA who gave so much useful advice. Also, a huge thank you to Ali Murray who did a wonderful job creating the perfect ambient sound and music for the film. Thank you!

Some life drawings
Here are some very quick life drawings I did this week (top three images). They are maybe not the most accomplished drawings, but it was good to practice drawing speedily and trying to capture the 'character' of the passers by. The drawings beneath that are of my head (or as others like to call it, a portrait!). My aim is to do more drawings of heads/faces, and by properly observing their structure, I'll furthur improve my ability to draw unusual positions more quickly and accurately as time goes on.

November 2010
I had a great time attending both BAF and Encounters Film Festival. Despite winning no awards, it was really great to be part of both festivals. There were so many amazing films to see. I did get a commended mention in the Encounters award ceremony which brightened my day!
Following this festival news - My graduation film has been accepted in ITFS (Internationales Trickfilm Festival Stuttgart). It also got through a couple of selection processes for the BAFTA awards, but to my disappointment, I didn't make it into the final 3 shortlisted films.
